Wearing her Kids on 45th Street outfit! All from Zara!

One of the coolest, absolute coolest things about Instagram is discovering cool new small businesses that totally fit your style and budget! And without IG, you would have never known about them! I used to think that social media was the worst invention in our recent years, mostly because people can’t see eye to eye without a phone in between their eyebrows or even make a real conversation without being behind a computer trolling or criticizing other people! But I became a blogger and this door to IG Narnia opened. Never had I ever seen so many cool little boutiques and businesses worth checking out and putting in your favorites and one of them is Kids on 45th Street!

They are a Seattle based children’s boutique that sells gently previously loved clothing at a fraction of the price from their competitors, and amazing high end brands like Gap, Zara, Polo, etc… We got a box for the kiddos and I was so impressed with the quality of the clothing, the prices and what they pick for each one of my raisins! So let me first tell you what they’re all about!

Just like any subscription box, you sign up and take a quiz where you tell them who they will be shopping for. Once they have that info they will curate a box full of gently used quality clothing for them to wear. It can even work as a capsule wardrobe. We got about 5 T-shirts, 3 pants and 2 jackets, so they can literally use that for the whole season if we wanted to! The best thing is that items start out at $3.29, so seriously, cheaper than even my local children’s consignment store! Our box which was set up for Landon, Colton and Tinsley was about $68… For all of them! Basically $22 for a whole capsule wardrobe per kid!
kidson451We are seriously super impressed at the quality of the clothes. Some of them even had tags! and we got anything from Gap, Polo, Cat & Jack, Adidas, Old Navy, Polo and Zara! Their customer service is out of this world as well. Super responsive and attentive to when we got out package and wanting to make sure everything fit. I would say they’re definitely worth a look and a follow! And the best thing about this is that you are helping the environment by reusing gently used clothing that otherwise would either go in the trash or who knows where! I love what they are doing and how they keep their prices attainable to practically anyone! If you are in the Seattle area, be sure to visit their Brick and Mortar store and if you’re like me, far away from the dreamy PNW, then head over to their Instagram or check out their website here! I mean this is a score for busy parents that “Ain’t got time to do the shopping!”

Do you shop consignment for your kiddos or yourself? What do you think about a consignment subscription box? Comment below & don’t forget to comment on my IG post here and follow us!!

Happy Monday!

I wanted to start by saying how blogging has changed my life in the short span of 4 months. You see, I never really felt like sharing with the world how my day went, my hacks, failures and winnings were. I thought that was so cliche and there are just so many bloggers around. It wasn’t until after many talks with my pillow and bff that I decided to take a shot at it, but a far one at that. Who would be interested in knowing about my life and what I do? Why? I am just another cookie cutter mother in Northern California! Well, I realized how much work it actually takes. I feel I have taken on a second job, networking, searching for the perfect photo and witty captions, I stay up at night responding to emails and comments, and I even research brands that I may want to pursue! So when my Instagram started taking off, I realized that I am a soul to be heard and If I want to pursue blogging, then to go ahead and give it all I’ve got! Social media is certainly a fun fun place, but it can be discouraging. Once you take off, the haters come out of the woods and 90% of the time those haters are other women just like you! Going through the same journey, and maybe taking off slower or faster than you, but yet feeling very uncomfortable with the idea of having to compete with you. One difference of opinion and God forbid you said anything because they will come out to attack! and my question is… why? Why cant we honor each other, cheer to each others’ victories and cry away the tears of each others’ failures? Specially in this time in age when we are standing up to ourselves, we should have the obligation to stand up for one another! I know I am not the only one that has experienced another IG mama ostracizing what we say on our posts, or even bringing down our own brand because they’re frustrated at theirs! Or even the ones you supported from the getgo but who won’t support you back now that you are reaching new heights… That has happened to me and it’s a serious mood killer. So I decided to be different than the rest. To respect newer (than me) bloggers, to honor the big ones, and to celebrate all.

I have had the pleasure to meet a blogger mama that is just the sweetest. Kimberly has been there since I started and she is about to welcome a little bundle of joy. Her family is the sweetest and just like anyone out there, has a story to tell. I want to feature her today as my Friday Feature Friend. Motherhood ties us all together, so what better than sharing her birth story? She has an amazing instagram feed and also a blog over here. Follow her on both and you’ll see how much you love following her sweet little family. She is mommy goals alright!

This wraps up my Friday Feature Friend article. I am in love with this little family and I know you will too. Kim, my friend… I am so ecstatic to see you expand your beautiful family and show your little kiddos what a strong super hero you are and how you can be a million months pregnant and still slay better than Beyonce… or Katy Perry… Or whoever! Friend, you’re doing it right. The mama in me honors the mama in you. The blogger in me honors the blogger in you.

Til next time

Where are the donuts?

Yeees girl… that’s my question too…! Came for the 🍩, left with 🥧! Loving these fall vibes were getting lately… except they’re gone by 11 am and to shorts we go! Also… am I the only parent that has already heard “can we carve the pumpkins” about twenty million times?! I mean… it would be TOTALLY cool if you forgot, so we keep said pumpkin for fall decor to last us to thanksgiving🤣 #justforgetplease.

See that bag? Y’all… I don’t think I’ll do plastic or paper bags ever again! They’re from @apolis and they hold a ton of weight! And are supposed to last over 8 years! Whaaaaa! And they hold the weight of a screaming tantruming 4 year old… if you need it🤣 Loved these bags since I found them on IG… they’re sustainable, they last you for Years and they completely replace any need for paper or plastic bag! And if you’re in California, you’d be happy to save the 10 cents surcharge… Because you never only use one bag!

Here’s a little more on them:

They have already survived a few shopping trips and I’m not gonna lie… one screaming toddler who WANTED to be in one… um ok girl.. 🙈

I loved how they are structured so they are always formed and standing, so when the grocery store clerk loaded everything, everything fit like a puzzle and our vegetables were preserved much better! And honestly, you can even use them for an overnight at grandmas, laundry, etc.. they’re so cute, I have them on display!

You can also customize what they say on the front, or do their stencils which were pretty cool…! I also talked them into giving me a discount code if you want to get your own! Use tinsleyandco to save yourself from the shipping charges! So all you pay is for the bag! You’re welcome 💁🏻‍♀️

Have you made the switch to a sustainable bag, recyclable bag yet?

That’s all for today,

The Best Tri-Tip Ever!

As a busy mom to three, I just can’t find cooking enjoyable anymore! I work from home, so I am always cleaning and cooking after everyone and before I am even done cleaning from the previous meal, I have to start cooking the next. The cycle never ends! It doesn’t make it better that my desk is literally right next to the kitchen, so seriously, the kitchen isn’t my cup of tea!

I have seen subscription boxes for easy home made meals, from having to do it by scratch, to microwaveable and honestly, I was never impressed with the quality. We spend a lot of money on take out and that is so embarrassing to say, but there are days where I want nothing to do with a stove!

We decided to test out this company called BULKBOX FOODS last week and see if they’re who we have been waiting all of our lives… and believe me, they DELIVERED! The process was super easy!

how bulkbox works.jpg

We opted for the Tri-tip and a medley of carrots, bell peppers, broccoli and zucchini. We ordered our box on a Monday and by Wednesday it was being gently delivered in a sealed cool box plenty with coolers, so our meat and veggies were as fresh as at the grocery store. What I was not expecting was how humongous the plank of tri tip was. It wasn’t at all too fatty, just the right amount, and id say with confidence it was at least 8 lbs or at least it felt that way, haha. We also got a basket full of organic veggies. The meat, I forgot to mention is from Australia. We got to cooking right away and me totally always playing it safe, was just freaking out because I have never made tri-tip on my own! Well, I went step by step on a simple recipe and I can say that OH MY GOODNESS… I don’t mean to toot my own horn, but it was the best I have had in years. The best part was that the kids loved it and ate like adults! no whining, and no fussing. We also only made maybe 30% of the whole box, so we have a couple more days left!

I must say that the tenderness of that meat was beyond compare. I could never find a plank like that anywhere! We were obsessed! and the best thing was that it wasn’t at all labor intensive. The meal took me maybe :45 to make. I seasoned the meat with garlic, salt, pepper and seared it on an oven safe pan for 2-4 minutes. Then turned it around and to the oven it went at 400 degrees for 30-40 minutes. Around 35 minutes it seemed that it needed just a few more minutes, so I took it out of the oven and let it self cook while cooling. the veggies were steamed and seasoned with pepper and I had some mashed potatoes ready to go. OH EM GEE… We wanted seconds and thirds and had I made the whole plank, we would be like thirty pounds heavier by now haha. I cannot wait to do another batch because everything was on point!

You should check them out! If you want quality meat & vegetables delivered to your door, here are a few of their combos and prices: Click here to learn more about them!

That’s all for now

Any End is OK!

I have to be real for one second today (aside my increasingly real under eye bags, extra belly weight and tiger marks), and share what happened the other day which had me torn… I am at the checkout line of my neighborhood market with T, and behind me are these two older ladies. I hear them babble about anything from Martha Stewart to what they’re making for dinner, but what made my ear pop was how one of them was telling the other “Did I tell you Molly has opted for a C-Section? I tried to talk to her out of it, but she is going with it without even trying the RIGHT way…” The other lady nodded and said “If girls now a days knew how it was in our day…No choices”… The way they nodded just made me want to say something, and although I really really almost did, It wasn’t my place, and it wasn’t the classy thing to do. I want to really share something that to this date sometimes bothers me! I tried. I really really tried and wanted a regular birth with my first in 2012. I even tried to hold it as much as I could without the “Juice”… But in the end, had I gone longer, we probably wouldn’t have made it. He got stuck, I got deathly sick and to the OR we went. I ended in a restricted area, my baby ended in the NICU… I won’t go into details but that day and week to follow was the best and worst of my life. The traumatic experience was something I still don’t think I have gotten over, and I +wish+ I would have agreed with my Dr. in the beginning.

Fast forward to my two subsequent births in which I opted to get C-Sections, I really felt they were a day at the spa in comparison (to my experience years before). And guess what. I had happy and wholly babies still. Whether it is a regular birth (And believe me… I wanted one), to an emergency flash C-section (Believe me, It was scary), to two planned C-sections that to me felt like the right way to go, we gave birth, we hurt, we healed, we walked the pain off on those hospital aisles at 3am, and we rocked at it! And to Molly, who must not know that granny is talking smack behind her back (bless her heart), whatever you choose, you are a warrior! Might be the generational gap, but let’s put an end to “this is the right way”! You are a true hero whether you tried or simply opted for whatever method of getting those buns out of the oven!  “Any end is Ok as long as they are wholly, happy and healthy!” & Naturally I had to get my felt board to do what I do with my three blessings that have made me the strongest person I know, tiger scars, battle marks and all!

Till next time, friends!

We are super excited to have partnered with kidbox to show you their fall styles! If you don’t know who kidbox is, it is a company that provides curated looks for your kiddos for a low price, no obligations, no styling fee and you only pay for what you keep! Basically, you take a quiz letting them know your kids fashion style and preferences, and they send you a complete box with 3-4 outfits they can wear for that season.
Say you only want to keep one outfit? You can return the rest for free, and Kidbox will charge you just for the items you choose and they will give you discounts for the items you keep, obvi. If you want to keep the whole box, then the discount is even bigger! They also let you donate to the charity of your choice when you choose to keep all the outfits! They work with high end brands such as:

Landon got three full outfits with Diesel, Paper Denim, Guess and French Toast. Colton got four full outfits with English Laundry, Paper Denim, French Toast, etc and Tinsley got four full outfits from brands I had never heard from before, that I checked and they have the cutest boutiques and are sold at high end department stores for double the price!
The cool thing about having these outfits delivered to our door was that I knew someone would take great care of us! Each of the kids got a stylist assigned that was super conscious on the items we preferred and curated a whole capsule look for them and they even wrote them a little note!hearticon The boxes were personalized, came with a little present each and the box itself is a coloring canvas! Talk about a greeeeat distraction free weekend for us parents! They colored both days! haha! The shipping was very fast and seriously, this beats taking the THREE kids shopping for clothing, having one, two, or three whine about having to try on clothes and walking over 10 minutes at the mall, am I right?! As the mailman dropped those boxes off, I could have sworn I heard angels singing on my ear, because the shopping was all done! Kiddos are super happy with their clothes and the sizes are pretty spot on! They also have different boxes that are more specialized to certain lifestyles or occasions, like Essentials (Underwear and more) and you can request outfits that would be more for uniform wear!
Best part about partnering up with Kidbox? They gave me a sweet deal for you to save on your first box! use code “TinsleyAndCo” for 15% OFF your first box ordered when fully kept! This will totally make a difference in yours and your kiddos life sans tantrums or second trips to exchange clothes that don’t fit! Check them out HERE!
whykidboxHave you used a service like this before? What were the perks about it? Let me know on the comments or on our feed!

A park play date or mama’s time off?

I must wonder, where do we draw the line between a park play date and a mama’s time off?! I mean hear me out! You’re still watching your kiddos, but having that adult interaction with another woman who is going through the same journey as you is so liberating! It’s Saturday, my husband isn’t home, so I text the bff and say “park?” She says “yes!” And while the kids play we chat, chat and chat some more… I swear it feels like I get more out of the the ordeal than the kids do! Having a bff on the same “motherhood ain’t easy, yo” page is so necessary!

What about you? Do you get more out of park play dates than your kids do? Also, why the heck aren’t we shifting our seasons’ dates? It’s fall but it’s 90’s… I don’t care. I’m still gonna sport my sweaters, more so if they’re my favorite ones I got from InhabitNY! Click here to check it out!
